It’s Always Springtime in God's Heart

God is always doing something fresh; in His heart, it’s always Springtime! I love Proverbs 4:23. It talks about our heart and all the things that spring up from that place, addressing how to keep our heart in a tender place so that God can always be doing something new there.

In all honesty, keeping my heart in that place requires a continuous "yes" to Jesus, a "yes" to His purification, a "yes" to going to places of pain and allowing Him to heal me there, and a "yes" to going to places that are sometimes uncomfortable and inconvenient. Like in Ezekiel 36:26, I desire a pliable heart filled with God's life, or like the poetry of Song of Solomon - a “seal of fire on my heart” for Jesus.

Recently, I’ve been hearing Holy Spirit pull me up on the words I speak that don’t align with His way of thinking. In the book of James, it talks about how our mouth directs our course. In the spirit, our mouth creates life and can also create death. It’s the same source that can praise God, but similarly, we can pull people down with our words. I want my heart to be a place of new life, sprouting with the potential to bloom. I want my heart to be a place where springs of freshwater burst out. Jesus, I invite you to burn away anything that doesn't align with your heart.

LIFE APPLICATION:

Prayer of declaration:

God, purify my heart. God, I need your purifying fire. I welcome you into all the places of my heart; till the soil of my heart so that I can have new things birthed there in this season. God, I want to be someone who comes forth as silver and gold, I want to carry your aroma. Thank you that it’s always Springtime in your heart, thank you for the invitation to go deeper with you, reveal the new things you’re doing in my life. I say “yes” again.

1. Read Isaiah 43. Ask Holy Spirit what the “new thing” is that He is doing in you?Isaiah 43:19 NLT “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

2. There’s always an exchange in the Kingdom of God. What areas of your heart is God wanting you to hand over because He has something better. Ask Holy Spirit what is He giving you in exchange? (For example; there is always beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, peace for anxiety. )

3. Ask Holy Spirit what “words or thought patterns” you have had recently that don’t come from Him. After He reveals it, repent and receive His forgiveness and ask Him what the truth is? Then listen for the truth. ( You may hear a song, scripture, word, image etc. God is good at communicating with us - you are made to hear Him. John 10:27) Declare that truth over yourself.
